Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Mississaugas Of The Credit First Nation traditional flag raising event ceremony at the Shelagh Law Parkette on June 22nd to take part in a meaningful act of recognition and respect.
We were honoured to raise the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation flag here in the heart of the valley. Not only to mark the history of this land, but to recognize and celebrate the strength and continued presence of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Beginning this year, we will raise this flag every June as a visible symbol of truth, reconciliation, and respectful relationship — and in the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and renewed connection.
Thank you to Dan Secord, Knowledge Keeper from the Mississauga Nation of the Three Fires Confederacy People for sharing his knowledge, culture, and presence with us.
We would also like to thank Acting Mayor Clark Somerville, Councillor Matt Kindbom and Catherine McLeod from the Town of Halton Hills for joining us.

The Glen200 Committee chose the logo submission of Rachel Marshall in June to use throughout the bicentennial year of Glen Williams.
The design spoke to the lushness of the Credit valley with its bridges spanning the river. She chose three iconic buildings to represent the village – the Williams Mill, the Town Hall and the Copper Kettle (former general store and post office).
The theme “Honouring History – Celebrating Community” is printed at the bottom. Second choice was a submission by Claudia Russell, Alexandra Russell and Elizabeth Bailey, with third place to Bridget Titus.
Thank you to all residents who submitted to the contest.
